Juvéderm & Restylane

What are fillers & how do they work?

Dermal fillers are modified forms of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that delivers nutrients and helps the skin retain moisture, softness, and volume. When used cosmetically, dermal fillers can help plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, add volume to cheeks, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars. The smooth HA gel in the Juvederm/Restylane collections of fillers provide results that are not only instant, but also long-lasting and natural looking. Dermal fillers are often used in combination with one another, along with Botox treatments to restore a younger and more youthful appearance.

How long before I see results?
Results are instant. You will see an immediate improvement in the treatment area. Most people need one treatment to achieve an optimal outcome. Additional “touch-up” treatments may be required to achieve and maintain the desired look.

How long do filler results last?
Results may last one year to two years, with optimal correction and depending on the formula used.

What is the treatment procedure like?
Your aesthetic healthcare provider will take your medical history. The provider will provide a facial analysis. Be prepared to discuss your aesthetic areas of concern. This is not a surgical treatment. Actual treatment with filler injectable gels can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 60 minutes, however you will have numbing cream on for approximately 30 minutes prior to your treatment depending on which area of your face is being treated.

What happens if I decide not to continue filler treatments?
A main advantage of using the Juvederm/Restylane collections of fillers versus other semi-permanent brands is that both are reversible-you can return to your pre-filler appearance if you don’t like the results.

What makes Juvederm different from other fillers?
The Juvederm collection employs a patented technology to create a smooth consistency gel that gives you a smooth natural look and feel unlike other hyaluronic acid facial fillers (that have a granular consistency). In addition, Juvederm XC (extra comfort) is a hyaluronic acid wrinkle filler with lidocaine, a pain reliever that allows you to be more comfortable during and after treatment.

What makes Restylane different from other fillers?
The Restylane product line is specifically designed to provide instant and long-lasting wrinkle correction with built-in numbing of lidocaine.

Subtle lift that lasts. Over time, your face changes in many ways. This is part of the normal aging process, but genetics and environmental factors also play a role. You might notice a change in the appearance of your skin, typically in the form of deepening parentheses lines and wrinkles. But what may be less obvious is age-related midface volume loss.

Juvederm Voluma XC is the first filler available that provides a natural, subtle look that gives a soft fullness to your cheeks, helping to smooth out unwanted lines and wrinkles while it lifts your cheeks and mid-face. With minimal to no downtime, Juvederm Voluma XC is the perfect option for the patient who wants to take years off of their appearance, without the interruption and expense of surgery.
