Your provider reviews your medical history, goals, and facial expressions in motion — mapping exact injection points, the right formulation, and the dose that fits your anatomy.
The right neuromodulator for your goals, from a team with thirty years of clinical experience.
Not every patient is the same — and neither is every neuromodulator. At Desert Sands, we work with Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, choosing the formulation that best fits your anatomy, your treatment history, and what you are trying to achieve. Subtle, customized, never frozen.
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are all purified forms of botulinum toxin type A. When injected in precise, small doses into specific facial muscles, they temporarily block the nerve signals that cause those muscles to contract. The relaxed muscle stops creating the repeated motion that etches dynamic wrinkles into the skin — and the skin smooths.
These are the most-studied, most-used aesthetic injectables in the world, with decades of clinical data and multiple FDA approvals for both cosmetic and medical use. All three work on the same principle — but they are not identical, and matching the right formulation to the right patient is part of what makes results look genuinely natural.
The effect is targeted and temporary. We treat one muscle group; surrounding muscles continue to move normally. That is how we deliver refreshed — never frozen.
The dynamic wrinkles neuromodulators address are the ones that appear when you move — frown, smile, raise your brows. Common treatment areas at Desert Sands:
All three are FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators. All three relax the same muscles in the same way. The differences are in formulation, behavior, and which patients they suit best — and knowing which to use is part of the clinical skill.
The original and most widely recognized neuromodulator — Botox Cosmetic is the brand most patients know by name and the gold standard against which all others are measured. Its predictable, well-studied behavior makes it the go-to choice for most patients and most treatment areas. Onset typically begins at days 3–4 with full results at day 14.
Botox is also FDA-approved for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), masseter reduction, brow lifting, and a range of medical indications beyond aesthetics.
Dysport has a slightly smaller molecular structure than Botox, which means it tends to diffuse more broadly from the injection point and may onset slightly faster — typically 2–3 days. This makes it particularly well suited for larger treatment areas like the forehead, where broader, more even coverage is desirable.
Dysport is dosed differently from Botox — units are not interchangeable between formulations — and requires a provider experienced with both to translate plans accurately. Some patients who feel Botox has "worn off" earlier find Dysport delivers a comparable or longer duration for them.
Xeomin is often called the "naked" neuromodulator — it is the only formulation that contains purely the active botulinum toxin without the complexing accessory proteins found in Botox and Dysport. This matters for a specific group of patients: those who have been treated with Botox or Dysport for years and feel results are becoming shorter-lived or less effective.
Accessory proteins can trigger a mild immune response over time, building resistance. Xeomin's clean formulation eliminates this variable entirely — making it an effective reset for long-term neuromodulator patients, and a strong first choice for those who prefer a "pure" formulation from the start.
A note on units: Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are measured in units — but those units are not equivalent across brands. A Dysport unit is not the same as a Botox unit. Translating accurately between formulations requires clinical experience with all three. Your provider will give you a clear, area-specific plan at your consultation so you always know exactly what you are receiving and why.
Every neuromodulator visit at Desert Sands follows the same pattern: a real conversation first, then the treatment. Total time on site is typically thirty to forty-five minutes for a first-time patient.
Your provider reviews your medical history, goals, and facial expressions in motion — mapping exact injection points, the right formulation, and the dose that fits your anatomy.
We offer topical numbing cream and Pronox (nitrous oxide) for patients who want additional comfort during their treatment.
Your chosen neuromodulator is injected with a fine-gauge needle in a series of small, precise doses. Total injection time is typically 15 to 30 minutes.
Written instructions before you leave. The basics: no lying flat for 4 hours, no exercise or alcohol for 24 hours, no rubbing the treated area.
Onset begins at days 2–4 depending on formulation. Full results show by day 14. Most patients return every 3–4 months to maintain.
There are plenty of places in Southern Utah to get Botox. A few things set us apart.

Most injectors work with one brand. We work with Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin — and choose based on your anatomy, your treatment history, and your goals. The right tool for the right job, every time.
We dose conservatively, treat in stages, and refuse to over-inject. The goal is that nobody notices the work — they just notice you look rested. If more units would serve you better, we say so. If fewer would, we say that too.
Voted by the Southern Utah community as the region's best med spa six years running — 2020 through 2025. The results speak for themselves. The reviews speak even louder.
Neuromodulators are not always the full answer. Your provider may recommend pairing with filler, PRX-T33 AquaGold, or laser resurfacing to deliver real, durable results — not pushing one tool at every problem.
Desert Sands is not a franchise. You see the same experienced providers every visit — people who know your face, track your results over time, and adjust your plan based on what they see.

Beyond aesthetics, Botox is one of the most effective treatments available for hyperhidrosis — excessive sweating that disrupts daily life. When injected into the dermis, the same active ingredient temporarily disables the nerves that signal the sweat glands, producing significant and lasting relief.
Sweating reduction is typically visible within two weeks, and results last four to six months — slightly longer than cosmetic neuromodulator treatment. Patients typically schedule maintenance every four to five months.
If sweating is affecting your quality of life, book a consultation. We will tell you candidly whether Botox for hyperhidrosis is the right tool for your situation.
Neuromodulators at Desert Sands are priced between $9 and $13 per unit depending on the formulation and treatment plan. Total cost depends on the number of units required to treat your specific concerns — which varies based on your goals, your facial anatomy, the areas you would like to address, and the formulation your provider recommends.
During your consultation, your provider will tell you exactly which formulation they recommend, how many units, the total cost, and what to expect in maintenance going forward. There is no obligation to book treatment at the consultation.
